After years working at some of best-known PR agencies and Silicon Valley titans, Karla launched Trippe & Company, a marketing, branding and communications firm she led from 1998 to 2014. The firm specialized in developing business and marketing strategies for emerging companies in emerging industries.
Her clients included both new and well-known venture capital firms and companies in the security technology and IOT space. During this time, Karla also was the contributing design editor of Colorado Springs Style.
Karla previously served as VP of the consumer technology group for Porter Novelli, where she managed more than $4M in PR business with such accounts as Iomega. Prior to that, she was VP of White & Company, where she built an integrating marketing practice for this PR subsidiary of BBDO Los Angeles.
Karla directed Symantec Corporation’s $12M worldwide advertising program and created the company’s first market research department. She began her career at advertising and public relations agencies in Denver and Dallas.
Karla served on the Silverthorne, Colorado Town Council, as vice chair of the Silverthorne Planning Commission and chaired the Summit County Telecommunications Consortium.
Additionally, she sat on the board of directors for Evocative, Inc., a colocation and managed services company based in Emeryville, CA, which had a highly successful exit in 2013.
Karla has spoken on “Building Brand Value Though Intellectual Asset Management” and “Designing Valuable Brand Strategies” at many advertising, PR, and finance events nationwide.
